Public day at the firing range

HAHNVILLE – St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne is pleased to announce that the sheriff’s office firing range will be open to the general public on Saturday, June 7 for handguns only.

Hours are from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.

Safety briefings will be held at 8 a.m. and noon and will last for 30 minutes.

All participants are required to provide their own ammo, targets, safety glasses, hearing protection and baseball-type cap.

All participants must also adhere to the following rules: must be 18 years or older, must have proper identification, must attend a safety briefing, weapons must be in a gun box or holster, all guns must be unloaded upon entering the range, weapons must be left in vehicle until all paperwork and safety briefings have been completed, and all shooters must wear a holster to secure their weapon while on the premises.
