LULING -The 10th Annual Avra Johnson Ramsay Memorial Golf Classic will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Willowdale Country Club in Luling, LA.
The 4-man scramble will host two flights with the morning flight teeing off at 8 a.m. and the afternoon flight beginning at 1 p.m. This tournament was created 10 years ago by Russell and Di Lauve of Luling, after the sudden death of Avra Johnson Ramsay, 21, who left behind a husband and a 2-year-old son, Grayden. Avra was a former St. Charles Parish resident and the daughter of Stephen and Cindy Johnson of Paradis and Janice (Tissie) Gray of Houston, TX. Proceeds from this tournament will provide a $3,500 scholarship to a 2010 Hahnville High School senior. The format is an 18 hole, 4-man scramble with an entry fee of $80 per player.
The fee includes cart, green fees, jambalaya, a pig roast, all you can eat and drink, door prizes and ditty bags containing awesome gifts. A DJ will keep the music playing all day long. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase for $1 for a chance to win a chartered fishing trip, jambalaya pot and a BBQ grill. Tickets for 50/50 chance will also be sold for only $1 and a Silent Auction will be held including several Saints items.
Anyone interested in playing golf or sponsoring a hole can contact Russell Lauve at (985)785-6811 or Stephen Johnson at (985)758-5101 or email cpjohnson6@cox.net. Deadline for registration form and entry fees is April 30, 2010.
