Fun-filled festival weekend

LULING – The 29th Annual Alligator Festival is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 25 at the West Bank Bridge Park on River Road in Luling.

This year’s event, which is sponsored by the parish’s rotary club, will feature local food delicacies such as alligator burgers, jambalaya, softshell crabs and other Cajun dishes.

Rides, games, live bands, souvenirs and local crafts are also on the line up for this weekend’s festivities.
The list of musical performers includes Bag of Donuts, Local Option 2, Full Circle, The Wise Guys, LA Kids, Allen Fontenot & the Country Cajuns, Waylon Thibodeaux and The Topcats.

Festival hours are: Thursday, Sept. 25 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (rides and drinks only), Friday, Sept. 26 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
