KILLONA – The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office will open their firing range to the public for sighting rifles only on Oct. 11 and Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.
The Richard Benoit Memorial Firearms Range is located behind the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on Highway 3127 in Killona.
All shooters must check in with range officer upon arrival. Shooting is on a first come first serve basis. Shooters should bring all equipment necessary including ammunition, eye and ear protection, paper targets and staples.
All shooters must sign a release and shoot only under the supervision of Sergeant Edward Adams.
No weapons are to brought to the range in loaded condition and no one under the age of 17 is allowed to shoot without parental supervision.
