DES ALLEMANDS – Michael A. Rembert Sr. was diagnosed with multiple myeloma – an incurable, but treatable blood plasma cancer. Because he is undergoing a bone marrow transplant, he is unable to work and is now uninsured.
In an effort to help Rembert and his family with some medical expenses, residents are forming a co-ed softball benefit in Des Allemands on Sept. 6. The entry fee per team is $150. Ages 15 and up are able to participate.
Food, raffles and music will also be available.
