Alpha Daughters of Zion Organization is hosting its annual domestic violence fundraiser gala on March 5 at the Jerusalem Shriners, 1940 Ormond Blvd., Destrehan, from 6 -9 p.m. Tickets are $30, a group table for 8 is $240 and can be paid at the door. The public is invited. Miss Louisiana USA Candice Bennatt, an advocate for domestic violence, will be keynote speaker. Singer Charmaine Neville will share how she triumphed over adversities. Alpha Daughters of Zion provides shelter, counseling, food and referrals to women and children of domestic violence abuse in St. Charles Parish and throughout the River Parishes.
