According to enrollment data gathered by the National Student Clearinghouse, 74 percent of graduates from St. Charles Parish’s class of 2010 enrolled in college within two years with 50 percent going to four-year programs and 24 percent going to two-year programs.
Following the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. in December that left 20 children and six staff members dead, schools across the country have begun to reassess school safety and some officials are calling for drastic measures such as arming teachers.
