The Destrehan Wildcats (9-9) knocked off Brother Martin, but lost to Jesuit, Holy Cross and John Curtis to finish with a 1-3 record in the Gerard Oubre Memorial Tournament.

Destrehan went toe-to-toe with Jesuit for the first seven innings, but Jesuit scored three runs in the eighth to knock off the Wildcats, 7-4.
Destrehan actually jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Hunter Abadie singled in one of those runs, and Randy Harvey scored on an error to bring in the other.Jesuit cut into the lead in the third and tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth.
In the seventh, Jesuit scored two runs on a home run and double, but Destrehan fought back to tie the game in the bottom of the inning.
Logan Krajcer grounded out to second to drive in Louis Kieffer, and Brennan Breaud tied the game again at 4-4 to with a sacrifice fly to plate Abadie.
However, Jesuit took a 7-4 lead on a pair of singles in the eighth and the Wildcats were unable to muster a run in the bottom of the inning in the loss.
Abadie led the Wildcats from the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Krajcer and Breaud also drove in runs for Destrehan.Tyler Winters suffered the loss for the Wildcats, giving up six hits and three earned runs in four innings. He struck out two in the game.Destrehan 1 Holy Cross 2
Holy Cross took a 2-1 lead over Destrehan in the third inning and held on down the stretch to defeat the Wildcats.
After Holy Cross went on top 2-0 to start the third, the Wildcats answered in the bottom of the inning when Sam Steib doubled to score Breaud. But that was the only run the Wildcats got in the loss, though they outhit Holy Cross 10-5.
Ryan Brewer led Destrehan from the plate by going 2-for-3. Breaud, Jacob Cambre and Kade Granier all finished 2-for-4 in the loss.
Cole Martin suffered the defeat for the Wildcats, giving up two earned runs on five hits in 6.2 innings. He struck out five in the game.

The Wildcats got into the tournament win column with a 4-1 victory against Brother Martin.
Destrehan built up a 3-1 lead in the first two innings. Granier got his team on the board in the first with an RBI grounder to bring home Breaud. In the second, the Wildcats added two runs to their lead with an RBI grounder by Abadie and a sacrifice bunt by Krajcer that put Destrehan on top 3-1.
The Wildcats final run of the game came in the fourth inning when Krajcer reached on a fielder’s choice to score Harvey.Granier led Destrehan from the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. He also picked up the win from the mound, giving up six hits and one run in seven innings. He struck out five in the game.

Destrehan could only muster two hits in an 8-2 loss to John Curtis to end the tournament.
Curtis built up a 3-0 lead by the fifth inning, but the Wildcats struck back with two runs in the bottom of the frame. Cambre reached on a fielder’s choice to drive in Abadie, and Granier reached on a fielder’s choice to short to bring Breaud home and cut the Curtis lead to 3-2.
However, Curtis scored five runs in the seventh off of a home run, sacrifice, a single and two Wildcat errors to lock up the 8-2 victory.
Brewer and Kieffer were the only Wildcats to record hits in the game.
Tyler Winters suffered the loss after giving up six hits in 3.2 innings.
