The Hahnville Tigers and Desterehan Wildcats baseball teams were well represented in the end of season all-district baseball honors.
All-District 1st Team
David Baudry, Coach of the Year – Hahnville
In his first season as Hahnville’s head coach, David Baudry led the team to a perfect 10-0 district record to give the Tigers the District 8-5A championship. Overall, Hahnville finished the season with a 27-8 record and came one win away from the state tourney.
Brooks Vial, MVP – Hahnville, Sr.
Hahnville’s Brooks Vial did it all for the Tigers in 2013. He finsihed with a 6-3 record from the stripe, striking out 64 and ending the season with a 1.49 ERA. From the plate, Vial finished with a .327 batting average, drove in 22 runs, hit 2 home runs and knocked 5 doubles.
Tyler Lamers – Hahnville, Jr.
Tyler Lamers shined from both the mound and plate during the season. He hit .315 with 22 RBIs while going 9-2 with a 1.06 ERA.
Michael Landry – Hahnville, Sr.
Landry led his team with a .500 average during the season. He hit a home run, scored 29 runs and finished with 22 RBIs.
Connor Lorio – Hahnville, Sr.
Catcher Connor Lorio finished with a .310 batting average that included a triple, home run and 21 RBIs.
Ty Cologne – Hahnville, Sr.
Ty Cologne hit 7 doubles and a triple while batting .318. He scored 29 runs for the Tigers and drove in 21 runs.
Tyler Simmons – Hahnville, Sr.
Tyler Simmons finished with an impressive .348 batting average that included 7 doubles, 2 triples, a home run and 21 RBIs.
Todd Porche – Hahnville, Jr.
Todd Porche led the Tigers with 27 RBIs on the season while batting .366. Porche also finished with a 7-1 record on the mound.
Tanner Hayes – Destrehan, Sr.
Catcher Tanner Hayes finished the season with an impressive .450 average while driving in 30 runs on 2 home runs, 8 doubles and a triple.
Brennan Breaud – Destrehan, So.
The only sophomore from HHS or DHS to make All-District, Brennan Breaud finished with a .344 batting average while drive in 19 runs.
Blake Hymel – Destrehan, Sr.
Blake Hymel contributed from both the plate and the stripe, finishing with an 8-3 record while batting .312 with 3 homers and 28 RBIs.
Kade Granier – Destrehan, Jr.
Another multi-talented Wildcat, Kade Granier pitched his team to six wins while batting .386 with a team-leading 31 RBIs.
Jace Weber – Destrehan, Sr.
Jace Weber batted .350 with 36 runs scored. He also hit a home run, 7 doubles and drove in 19 runners.
All-District 2nd Team
Brock Benedetto – Destrehan, Jr.
Centerfielder Brock Benedetto finished the season with a .273 batting average that included 28 RBIs on 2 home runs and 8 doubles.
Ryan Brewer – Destrehan, Jr.
Ryan Brewer scored 20 runs, drove in 22 runs and finished the season with a .344 batting average. He also pitched his team to nine wins.
Sam Steib – Destrehan, Jr.
Sam Steib scored 31 runs, drove in 23 and finished the season with 9 doubles and 2 home runs.
Easton Melancon – Hahnville, Sr.
Easton Melancon finished the season with a .235 batting average that included 15 RBIs. He also scored 20 runs for the Tigers.
Dylan Keller – Hahnville, Jr.
Dylan Keller finished the season with 6 doubles and 2 triples while batting .326. He had 17 RBIs.
