The Hahnville Tigers scored 10 runs in the third inning on their way to an 18-0 win over Bonnabel in their first district game of the season.
The Tigers took a 4-0 lead after the first two innings but officially put the game away in the third frame. Michael Landry got the scoring started with a sacrifice fly that brought in Ty Cologne and Dylan Keller put Hahnville up 6-0 after blasting a single to left field. From that point on, the Tigers were walked around the bases with Brooks Vial drawing a bases loaded walk to put Hahnville up 8-0. Cologne was then hit by a pitch to bring in another run.
A following walk was issued to Easton Melancon to give the Tigers a 10-0 lead and Landry came through with a two-RBI single in his second at bat of the inning to put Hahnville up 12-0.
Devaughn Colly followed that with a single to center to bring in two more runs and put Hahnville up 14-0.
In the fourth, Garret Smith lined a 3-2 single to extend the Tiger lead even further and Chase Bagot hit a two-RBI sacrifice fly to give the Tigers a 17-0 lead.
The final run of the game came home minutes later after Matt Fontenot skied a sacrifice fly to bring home Smith.
The Tigers finished with only eight hits in the game but the Bonnabel pitching staff combined to walk 13 batters.
Landry led the Tigers from the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBIs. Colly and Todd Porche both finished with three RBIs on one hit.
Keller, Tyler Simmons, Brooks Vial, Cologne, Melancon, Smith, Bagot and Fontenot all finished with RBIs in the game.
Zach Calhoun picked up the win for Hahnville, striking out four and giving up only two hits in four innings of work. Vial pitched a perfect inning of relief, striking out three in the fifth frame.
Hahnville also pulled out a come-from-behind win over Holy Cross on Saturday.
The Hahnville Tigers scored two runs in the seventh inning to cap a 5-4 victory.
Landry gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning after guiding a hard ground ball into center field to plate Tyler Lamers and Cologne. However, Holy Cross fired back in the bottom of the frame and scored four runs to take the lead.
Hahnville got one of those runs back in the fifth on an RBI single by Porche, but still trailed 3-4 heading into the seventh.
Landry once again got the Tigers started in the final frame by singling to right field. He advanced to second on a sacrifice and moved to third on a single by Connor Lorio. Simmons tied the game a batter later by hitting a sacrifice fly, which set the stage for some late-inning heroics from Porche.
With two outs, Porche blasted a hard ground ball that jetted into right field and gave Lorio enough time to make it home for the Hahnville win.
Landry led the Tigers from the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Porche was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Simmons finished with an RBI.
Lamers picked up the win, giving up three hits while striking out five in two innings.
Hahnville will host East St. John on Thursday at 4 p.m. and will host Higgins on Saturday at 2 p.m.
