Tigers beat Central Lafourche, fall to Jesuit, West Ouachita

The Hahnville baseball team went 1-2 over the weekend in the Gerard Oubre Memorial, beating Central Lafourche but losing to West Ouachita and Jesuit. With the losses, the Tigers fell to 6-12 on the season.

 

West Ouachita 7 Hahnville 6

On Friday, West Ouachita took a 4-0 lead in the third inning and then added a run in the fourth to jump on top of Hahnville 5-0. Though the Tigers rallied with six runs in the bottom of the fifth, it wasn’t enough as West Ouachita fired back with two runs in the sixth to put the game away.

Cody Farrell led the Tigers from the plate finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Connor Lorio also recorded two RBIs in the game while Dylan Keller went 2-for-4 with one run. Farrell suffered the loss for the Tigers, giving up two hits and one run in two innings of relief.

 

Hahnville 9 CLHS 3

The Tigers lone win of the weekend came in a 9-3 victory over Central Lafourche. Central Lafourche actually took the lead with two runs in the third, but Hahnville regained the advantage with a five-run fourth inning. Hahnville added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth for the win.

Travis Faucheux went 3-for-4 from the plate with an RBI to lead the Tigers. Tyler Simmons and Easton Melancon each had two RBIs in the game, while Tyler Lamers recorded a double.

Lamers also got the win from the mound, striking out four while giving up eight hits in six innings of work.

 

Jesuit 8 Hahnville 7

After an impressive offensive showing against Central Lafourche, Hahnville went toe-to-toe with Jesuit but lost after the Blue Jays scored six runs in the sixth inning.

Jesuit went on top 2-0 in the fourth inning, but the Tigers added a run in the bottom of the frame to cut into the lead.

Hahnville seemingly blew the game open with a six-run fifth inning, but Jesuit responded with a six-run sixth inning to get the one run victory.

Simmons led the Tigers from the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Farrell went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Mike Ford went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Brooks Vial got the loss for the Tigers after giving up eight runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings of work.
