Lady Tigers take down HLB, South Lafourche and Thibodaux

Hahnville was on a roll last week winning four in a row thanks in part to the arm of senior pitcher Lauren Beadle, who’s been “Miss Automatic” in the circle for the Lady Tigers.

After trouncing Central Lafourche 11-1, the Lady Tigers met H.L. Bourgeois on Wednesday. Bourgeois took an early 1-0 lead, but Hahnville came back in the bottom of the third when freshman Courtney Ortego scored off sophomore Pryscilla Prince’s single to center field.

Prince was driven in a few plays later off the bat of junior Maeson Martindale, who singled to center field to put Hahnville up 2-1.

Martindale crossed the dish after freshman Kamryn Keller crushed a center field fly ball for a double to go up 4-1. Beadle recorded the win for the purple and gold, allowing no earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out five in seven innings.

On Thursday the Lady Tigers horse collared South Lafourche 16-0 in five innings to capture the district win. Keller finished with three RBIs on four hits, Sarah VanEtta hit a two-run double and Martindale chipped in with a two-run double of her own. Sophomore Maddi LeBlanc hit an RBI double, as did Ortego in the second inning.

Sophomore Jourdyn Hogan also hit an RBI to help her team to the big win.

Six Lady Tigers combined for 17 hits, 11 RBIs and 14 runs in five innings. Two runs were scored on errors.

Beadle logged her third win of the week, giving up just one hit and allowing no earned runs while striking out five in four innings.

On Saturday the Lady Tigers scored six runs in the first three innings on their way to a 10-2 victory over Thibodaux. Martindale, Hogan and VanEtta were influential in the win.

The Lady Tigers struck in the first inning when Martindale hit an RBI double and Hogan smashed a two-run double that scored Martindale and Keller.

The onslaught continued in the second when VanEtta smashed a two-run homer that brought Martindale around the dish once more. Two more runs in the top of the fourth and two more in the top of the seventh clinched the win for Hahnville.

Beadle allowed two earned runs on six hits, struck out six and walked two over seven innings.
