Hahnville rolls, Destrehan streak ends

Tigers win 56-0, while Wildcats fall 31-21

The Hahnville Tigers cruised to another monster win on Friday, while the Destrehan Wildcats saw their 30-game win streak snapped with a 31-21 loss to Thibodaux.

The Tigers dominated Sarah Reed 56-0, using three touchdowns from star running back Alfred Blue and five touchdown passes by gunslinger Brian Ensminger to roll out to a 42-0 halftime lead. After that, the Hahnville backups kept the shutout alive in the second half, while notching two more scores in the final 24 minutes to give the Tigers a 56-0 win.

In their first two victories of the year, Hahnville has outscored their opponents 98-0.

While the Tigers recorded an easy victory, Destrehan struggled offensively in their loss to Thibodaux.

Thibodaux quarterback Trevon Reed threw for a short touchdown pass to kick off the scoring, but a missed extra point attempt gave the Wildcats the chance to take the lead on their next possession. That’s when a Taylor Dunn pass was tipped by a Thibodaux defender into the awaiting arms of Kyron King for an 88-yard score.

Thibodaux would take the lead back with a 23-yard scamper by Reed with 9:56 in the second quarter and wouldn’t relinquish it for the rest of the contest.
