Hahnville High School runner competes in Junior Olympics

Luling’s Tyler Hebert swept most of the competition when he placed third in the 2000-meter steeplechase track event at the AAU National Championships for Track and Field June 29 through July 4 in Orlando, Fla.

Tyler also placed 13th in the 1500-meter run, 12th in the 400-meter hurdles and 23rd place in the 800-meter run at the national competition.

While his success in Florida was well-deserved, Tyler moves on to The AAU Junior Olympic games in Detroit this week where he will compete in the 2000-meter steeplechase and the 1500-meter run.

Tyler is the son of Kevin and Debbie Herbert of Luling. He is presently attending HHS and will be a sophomore.
