Hahnville, Destrehan football games rescheduled due to weather

Safety Tyler Morton (2) celebrates after a big play with teammate Dylan Gibbs in a 2019 Destrehan victory. Morton made another big one on Friday night at Ruston - this one a career highlight and then some.

Friday night football will take a detour this week for both St. Charles Parish high school teams.

Due to weather concerns, Hahnville will host H.L. Bourgeois at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, while Destrehan will visit Thibodaux at 6 p.m. Saturday night. Both games were previously set to be played tonight (Friday, Oct. 25) at 7 p.m.

For Hahnville (7-0), it represents the school’s homecoming game. The Tigers are attempting to move to 8-0 on the season and take one more step to securing an outright district championship. Bourgeois enters with a 1-6 record.

Destrehan (4-3), meanwhile, has a pivotal encounter on the road as a one-loss Thibodaux (6-1) team that is ranked in the top 10 in Class 5A power points.
