Former Hahnville High School standout safety/cornerback Jerqwinick Sandolph has decided to leave LSU and transfer to Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond.
Sandolph, who earned all-state honors at Hahnville, played in 12 games for the Tigers over the past two seasons, mainly on special teams.
With the graduation of former Lutcher High School cornerback Todd Washington, who has been invited to the 2014 NFL Combine, Sandolph is expected to compete for a starting spot at Southeastern next season.
He was highly praised by many of the Tiger coaches for his excellent technical skills, his size and athleticism, but he was just not able to get on the field to showcase his skills for LSU other than on special teams.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Sandolph will have two years of eligibility remaining.
He is one of three defensive backs from LSU, along with safety Micah Eugene and cornerback Derrick Raymond, to transfer to Southeastern.
