Curiously, if one is to ever wonder about the true value Destrehan defensive end Glen Logan provided his team, he might look to the Wildcats’ jamboree loss to Lutcher.

While Destrehan fell behind early and ultimately couldn’t overcome its early struggles, the Wildcats nearly pulled off a sensational comeback in part for one key reason: Lutcher couldn’t go to the ground game to kill the clock. They didn’t even try; Logan and a stellar Destrehan defensive line were the main reasons why.

When the real games began, Destrehan rang up 11 straight wins before ultimately falling in the state quarterfinals, and Logan was one of the team’s main cogs throughout.

The LSU commitment was recognized recently for his play when the Louisiana Sports Writers Association named him to the Class 5A All-State team.

A senior, Logan began the season as the top ranked player in the Rivals top 100 prospects list for the Class of 2016. At 6’4, 290 pounds, the imposing defensive end proved a total mismatch for the vast majority of opponents and was virtually impossible to single team.

Logan finished the season with 54.5 tackles, four sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss.

“Glen is a special player who worked extremely hard to become a great high school player,” Destrehan coach Stephen Robicheaux said. “The work he put in showed on the field and his play was absolutely huge in the success of our defense the past three years. He’s not only a great player but a great person, and I’m so excited about Glen’s future.”

Destrehan’s John Williams earned honorable mention status.
