DHS, HHS swim teams excel at UNO dual meet

The Destrehan and Hahnville swimming teams each competed in a dual meet last week at UNO in the Metro New Orleans High School Swim League, and both teams found plenty of success.

The Hahnville boys remained undefeated at the meet by taking first place, while Destrehan took top honors on the girls’ side.

Girls first-place finishers were: Jenae Naquin (DHS, 50 yard freestyle, 27.90); Kayli Mato (HHS, 100 yard freestyle, 1:06.28); Megan Berthelot (DHS, 500 yard freestyle, 6:26.53); Lex Tamplain (HHS, 100 yard backstroke, 1:12.32); Logan Tauzin (HHS, 100 yard breaststroke, 1:20.77); Lainey Dupuy (DHS, 200 yard IM, 2:46.56); HHS 200 yard freestyle relay team (Kayli Mato, Carson Wilke, Hannah Ditcharo and Lex Tamplain, 1:59.36); DHS 400 yard freestyle relay team (Jenae Naquin, Madison Weber, Lainey Dupuy and Reagan Pfister, 4:30.38);  and HHS 200 yard medley relay team (Lex Tamplain, Hannah Ditcharo, Logan Tauzin and Kayli Mato, 2:12.33).

Boys first place finishers were: Vincent Tamplain (HHS, 50 yard freestyle, 24.34 and 100 yard butterfly, 55.98); Warren Massimini (HHS, 100 yard freestyle, 49.91 and 200 yard freestyle, 1:48.99); Blaise Wise (HHS, 100 yard backstroke 58.73 and 200 yard IM, 2:07.24); Jay Madden (HHS, 100 yard breaststroke, 1:03.05); HHS 200 yard freestyle relay team (Austin Burke, Jay Madden, Destin Gilbert and Seth Mullins, 1:38.90); HHS 400 yard freestyle relay team (Blaise Wise, Joe Foucha, Vincent Tamplain and Warren Massimini, 3:35.09) and HHS 200 yard medley relay team (Blaise Wise, Vincent Tamplain, Jay Madden and Warren Massimini, 1:48.50).
