Destrehan 2014 All-District team

First Team, All-DistrictAllen Pittman, Linebacker

Destrehan senior linebacker Allen Pittman was named the defensive MVP of District 7-5A. Pittman finished with 53 solo tackles, 21 assists and eight sacks. He also had nine tackles for loss for the Wildcats.

Will Matthews, Running Back

Destrehan senior running back Will Matthews was the team’s workhorse in 2014, finishing the season with 1,814 yards on 215 carries. He also had 26 touchdowns for the Wildcats.

Kirk Merritt, Receiver

Destrehan senior receiver Kirk Merritt had 26 catches for 440 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 618 yards on just 46 attempts while scoring seven touchdowns.

Glen Logan, Defensive line

Destrehan junior defensive end Glen Logan finished the 2014 season with 39 solo tackles and two and a half sacks. The big run stopper also had four tackles for loss.

Ed Leonard, Defensive Line

Destrehan senior defensive end Ed Leonard recorded 25 total tackles and 18 assists in 2014. Additionally, Leonard had three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.

Louis Kieffer, Offensive Line

Destrehan senior offensive lineman Louis Kieffer was one of the main reasons the Wildcats had so much success on the ground, as the team rushed for nearly 4,000 yards during the season.

Ryant Price, Offensive Line

Destrehan senior offensive lineman Ryant Price paved the way for the Wildcat rushing attack while protecting his quarterback by limiting defensive pressure.

Brandon Scott, Safety

Destrehan senior safety Brandon Scott was one of the Wildcat defensive leaders with 65.5 total tackles. Scott also had two tackles for loss and picked off three passes.

Raekwon Morgan, Safety

Destrehan senior safety Raekwon Morgan finished the 2014 season with 32 total tackles and a tackle for loss. Morgan also had an interception for the Wildcats.

Second Team, All-District

Alfred Smith, Receiver

Destrehan senior wide receiver Alfred Smith led the Wildcats with 42 catches for 563 yards and six touchdowns in 2014. Smith averaged 13.4 yards per catch.

John Williams, Receiver

Destrehan junior receiver John Williams had a breakout season for the Wildcats, catching 30 passes for 495 yards and seven touchdowns. Williams also rushed for 95 yards.

Kyle Weems, Offensive Line

Destrehan senior offensive lineman Kyle Weems impressed throughout the season as the Wildcats were able to run on every team they faced in 2014.

Austin Dickerson, Cornerback

Destrehan senior cornerback Austin Dickerson finished the season with 25.5 total tackles while also blocking two kicks and recording five interceptions.

Alex Zayed, Linebacker

Destrehan junior linebacker Alex Zayed led the Wildcats with 70 and a half total tackles that included four tackles for loss.

Kendell Anderson, Cornerback

Destrehan junior cornerback Kendell Anderson excelled in his first season as a starter by recording five interceptions and finishing with 31 solo tackles.

Gerald Wilbon, Defensive Line

Destrehan junior nose tackle Gerald Wilbon had 27 total tackles, half a sack and two and a half tackles for loss during the season. Wilbon also forced a fumble.
