The fourth of July week was full of more than just fireworks for the River Parishes own Dance Unlimited. They traveled to our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. to attend the Dance Masters of America National Convention and Competition.After eight days of competition, Dance Unlimited received Five out of the twelve Over All National Placements and were selected to entertain at the Grand National Performance.
With six Platinum Placements out of eight senior elite entries and all six were in the High Score Rankings. Four received the first place Award and two were second place Award winners. They also were the Judges Award Recipient five times.
“It was an unbelievable week of excitement and thrills for all our students” owner Duanne Cazalot told us.
“Dance Masters offers so much for the dancers from classes with the world’s finest teachers to special events, a glamorous banquet and then there was the historical location of Washington, DC. It will be a trip we will talk about for a long time to come.”
Starting the awards off were the Prestigious Judges Selections which went to the following Dance Unlimited students:
Taylor Rivera received the “You Shine Award” for personality and incredible technique and control for a 7 year old.
MaCoi Hollins received the “Personality Plus Award” which says it all. The judges commented on her stage presence and performance quality at 9 years old.
MaQue Hollins received the ultimate “Drama Award”. MaQue performed a modern routine to “Walk Away” that left the judges applauding as she finished.
Ashleigh Keller received the “Glitz and Glamour Award” and was told to pack her bags since she is ready for Broadway right now.
“Music Box” featured MaQue Hollins and Hailee Weber received the “Totally Together Award” being named the technically perfect performance of the competition.

“Thunder”- Teen Open Division -featuring MaQue Hollins, Ashleigh Keller, Hailee
Weber and Victoria Pellerin – Gold and 1st Over All “Music Box” – Teen Jazz Division -featured MaQue Hollins and Hailee Weber –
Platinum and 1st Over All “Rain” – Teen Lyrical Division -featuring MaQue Hollins, Ashleigh Keller, Hailee
Weber and Victoria Pellerin – Platinum – 1st Over All and Grand National Selection After 10 Days of excitement and awards, MaQue Hollins was named the recipient of
a Modern scholarship out of 93 other dancers over 14 years old.
Fifteen members of Dance Unlimited attended the 7 days of classes and competition. They are Taylor Rivera, Amber Oubre, MaCoi Hollins, Taylor Meyer, Mikayla Meyer, Gabrielle House, Janet Nelson, Savannah Loupe, Katelyn Carcich, Ashley Mince, MaQue Hollins, Ashleigh Keller, Victoria Pellerin, Hailee Weber and LADM Vice President and owner of Dance Unlimited, Duanne Cazalot.
After classes during the day, they enjoyed the sights.
From an incredible fourth of July Firework Spectacular to Welcome Parties, Formal Banquets and even tours of Washington, D.C., Virginia and Hershey, Pa.
Hailee Weber represented Louisiana Association of Dance Masters as their 2009 Teen Miss Dance with class and elegance.
She toured Washington, D.C., attended parties, performed her Title Winning Lyrical to “One Moment More” choreographed by Angle L. Klibert and made memories to last a life time. Hailee will crown the new Teen Miss Dance of Louisiana this coming November.
