The Crescent City Hooks, a 13-year-old baseball team based out of Destrehan, won the Super Series American Division National Championship the week of July 11 through 18 in Tulsa, Okla.The boys went undefeated in a field of 24 teams.
The team consists of Tyler Dupuy and Chris Prieur from Harahan, Vinny Lovio from Kenner, Ben Harrison, Ryan Hammer and Evan Chacon from Metairie, Cody Farrell from Luling, Brock Benedetto from Destrehan, Daniel Franklin from LaPlace, Taylor Cochran from St. Rose, Jace Fairchild from Gonzales and bat boy Eric Chacon.
The teams head coach is Blake Benedetto, assistant coach Dirk Fairchild, and managed by Randal Benedetto.
The Hooks finished the year with 37 wins and only six losses winning 7 out of 10 tournaments concluding with the national championship where Ben Harrison and Jace Fairchild were selected to the All-Tournament team with Tyler Dupuy selected as the tournament MVP.
