5 Lady Tigers, Wildcat highlight All-State selections

Zach Schexnaydre
1st Team All-State
Senior, Destrehan

Destrehan’s Zach Schexnaydre was the only baseball player in St. Charles Parish to land on the 5A All-State team. Schexnaydre finished up his career as a Wildcat by slamming 11 home runs  with a batting average of .390. He also had a .770 slugging percentage, hit five doubles and drove in 35 runs during the 2011 season.

Elise deBruler
1st Team All-State, MVP
Senior, Hahnville

Not only was Hahnville senior Elise deBruler named the MVP of District 6-5A after a spectacular season in which she batted .480 while hitting four home runs, but she was also picked as the Most Outstanding Player in 5A softball over the weekend.
DeBruler, who was selected 1st Team All-State by both the Louisiana Sports Writers Association and the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association, only struck out six times all year. She also smashed seven doubles, recorded 28 singles, drove in 29 runs and scored 29 runs for the Lady Tigers.

Taylor Webre
1st Team All-State
Senior, Hahnville

Hahnville senior Taylor Webre was selected All-State 1st Team by the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association. Webre, a team leader throughout her career, finished the season with a batting average of .359 while hitting three home runs, seven doubles and 23 singles. She also knocked in 29 runs for the state champion Hahnville Lady Tigers.

Courtney Dutreix
1st Team All-State
Junior, Hahnville

Upcoming senior Courtney Dutreix wrapped up her junior season with a host of awards. She was named the MVP of the state championship game and was also selected 1st Team All-State by both the Louisiana Sports Writers Association and the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association. Dutreix finished the season with a .476 batting average while also recording 10 doubles, two triples and 19 RBIs.

Hannah Haydel
1st Team All-State
Junior, Hahnville

In 2011, opposing hitters did not want to face junior Hannah Haydel. Haydel, one of three Lady Tiger juniors to be honored as an All-State selection, finished the year with a 1.06 ERA and struck out 205 batters while walking only 50. Her season record was 32-3. Haydel was named 1st Team All-State by both the Louisiana Sports Writers Association and the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association.

Amye Barre
All-State Honorable Mention
Junior, Hahnville

During her junior season, Amye Barre led the Lady Tigers with 34 RBIs while finishing with a batting average of .402. Barre, who was also a 1st Team All-District selection, jacked three home runs, smashed 12 doubles and finished with 26 singles. She only struck out four times in 102 at bats. Barre was named All-State Honorable Mention by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
