2011 parish prospects already drawing attention

One football recruiting season doesn’t end and another one starts up in college football.

Last week, Destrehan High School junior offensive tackle Ethan Hutson gained his first scholarship offer for 2011. Hutson, a 6-4, 295 pound offensive tackle/guard, was offered a football scholarship by Tulane University.

The versatile offensive lineman has already caught the eye of football powers like Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas State, LSU, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest in the early recruiting process.

Hutson’s father, Mark, is a former All-American offensive lineman at Oklahoma and is currently the offensive line coach for Tulane University.

Another Wildcat junior gaining attention from colleges for the 2011 recruiting class is 5-10, 235 pound inside linebacker Tarquin Kenner.

At Hahnville High School, junior quarterback Brian Ensminger has caught the attention of many of the major colleges in the South. The 6-1, 195 pound strong-armed quarterback is being looked at by LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn, Mississippi State, Tulsa and Texas A&M.

Ensminger’s pitch and catch teammate Derek Howard is also gaining momentum on the junior recruiting trail. In a state rich with wide receiver talent, the 6-0 ½, 178 pound end is considered one of the top receiving threats in Louisiana for the 2010 prep season.
