A question of faith

This week’s question: As a Christian, am I supposed to be a missionary for Christ or should I leave preaching to the preachers? I count among my friends a Hindu and also several Jews and even an atheist, none of whom accept Jesus as the Messiah. Sometimes we talk about religion, but I prefer not to because I don’t know what to say. What should I do?
Carla Antoine

As Youth Minister of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Boutte, Carla instructs young people in their weekly bible studies on daily Christian living.

Acts 1:8 says “…ye shall be witnesses unto me…”. Christ’s great commission is His desire for you to witness for Him.

As for your unsaved friends, my prayer is that most of your friends are saved. 2Co 6:14 says “Be ye not unequally yoked with unbelievers.”

Befriending a non-believer for the purpose of sharing the Gospel is different than becoming their friend. Companions are suited for one another in their beliefs and unbeliefs.

The best way to win your friends to Christ is by living a Christian life in front of them and seek the help of other mature Christians.

Each week we ask a question for people of faith to answer. Want to participate? Call Derek Clontz, 985-758-2795
