A question of faith

This week’s question: My doctor has just told me I have incurable cancer and just three months to live. I’ve never been a church-goer and never thought all that much about God. But I sure am now. What should I do to make sure I go to Heaven when I die? Do you have a special prayer that would help me?

Answer, Rev. Anthony Bellow, Hahnville Baptist Church: We must place our faith in God. Even though you have only three months to live and never sought God before, it is never to late to receive help from the Lord. In Acts 3:19 the bible says, repent ye therefore, and be converted that your sins may be blotted out.

We must also surrender to Jesus as Lord the bible says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thy heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 9:10

We must place our faith in Jesus, Ephesians 2:8. Pray the prayer of salvation to ask God save your life. God’s word teaches: “No man comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6.

Each week we’ll ask a question for people of faith to answer. Want to participate? Call Derek Clontz, 985-758-2795
