The Hahnville High School marching band has worked very hard this year perfecting their show titled “Out of the World” which featured music by David Bowie, Gustav Holst, John Williams and Pink Floyd – and all their hard work has paid off, earning the group three superior ratings.
On Oct. 20, the band traveled to Morgan City to compete in the Morgan City Tiger Classic and on Oct. 30 they traveled to Nicholls State University to compete in the LMEA District 7 Marching Band Festival.
They received superior ratings for their band, drum majors, drum line and auxiliary at both shows.
The group’s third and final competition was at the Louisiana Showcase of Marching Bands at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 3.
Once again, the band received a superior rating along with their drum majors. The drum line and auxiliary both received an outstanding rating.
The members of the HHS marching band would like to thank all of those have supported the band this year with their fundraisers and all other supporters.
