Using three touchdown runs by Jai Steib, the Hahnville Tigers moved to 1-1 on the season with a 32-12 victory over Helen Cox.
Hahnville scored first with a 40-yard field goal by senior Brandon Larousse with 3:01 left in the first quarter, then quickly answered a Cox touchdown with Steib’s first touchdown of the night halfway through the second quarter.
That score put the Tigers up 10-6.
The Cougars would answer with a touchdown of their own, but with 18 seconds left until half, Steib once again pushed his way 7-yards through defenders to pick up another score. Guiseppe Crovetto added a two-point conversion when he found Jared Harrell in the back of the endzone to put the Tigers up 18-12.
With 6:47 left in the third, Steib stretched the Tiger lead to 24-12 with a 6-yard run, with Crovetto bouncing off a pair of defenders shortly after to pick up the Tigers second two-point conversion of the night.
Alfred Blue then added the final nail to the coffin, catching a short pass from Crovetto before bullying his way 20 yards for the final score.
