This is a good year to learn democracy

Citizens of the United States of America should learn a lesson this election year – they are not always assured their country always follows the paths of democracy.

This year, we have many descriptions of what democracy means to the multitude of our citizens. Look at what the candidates have put in our footpaths to decide upon.

Of course, we have liberal and conservative outlooks on how democratic government should work. But, there are many other outlooks on how a government decided by democratic selection of the people should work.

We have before us today an outspoken, and to some, an outrageous politician who makes his feelings known without consideration of other voters feelings. If they disagree with him, they are automatically wrong.

Is that how democracy should work? Shouldn’t other citizens have a say-so on how government should work? And shouldn’t the majority decide which way to go?

Can’t we split the difference and say that we need to give and take a bit and let everyone have their say so and at least participate in the discussion of what is the best way we should run our government?

Do we have to cut out the minority completely and let the majority run the whole show?

There are many questions to be resolved in the running of a democracy. The United States of America invented democracy in which the people governed were supposed to have decided by majority how their government should be run.

So when a majority of our voters say so, we should go ahead with it and let the minority adapt to it. And if the governed decides to change to another format, they can do so in the future and make our government fit our desires.

There’s no reason to fuss back and forth about which way to go.

Let’s let the majority decide and go from there.

That is the way our forefathers designed our democracy. And that is the way the decisions of how to do it should go.Let’s make America a great country again without the quibbling and disagreements we have had this year. If we want to have debates, okay. That helps to bring out the best things to do.

But when they are over, let’s proceed and let our voters decide on election day what is the right way to go. No one person should make that decision for the majority of our electorate.
