Norco death beyond comprehension

It was sad indeed this week for police to discover the remains of a 78-year-old woman who was brutally murdered some three weeks ago in her Norco home. She was described as a sweet lady who minded her own business and was kind to everyone.

Fortunately, this is a rare occurence in St. Charles Parish. People here for the most part are kind souls who value the lives and well-being of others. And that is the reason it is such a pleasant place in which to live.

We are considered the Parish of Plenty. And that includes respect for our fellow citizens. But this murder goes against our grain.

We feel sorry for the person or persons who were responsible for such a hideous act. She was stabbed several times and then hit over the head with a microwave oven.

To commit such a crtime takes an evil mind beyond all imagination. How can a person live with oneself after doing that?

Apparently there is wickedness in our society we don’t know about. We must expect it. But then again we must pay the perpetrators back for their misdeeds to help prevent it from happening again.

This is not a perfect world, for sure, and all the people in it do not look out for one another. An act such as this proves that point.

And it is especially venomous when it occurs so  close to home. We hope it never happens again.
