Just when we thought the slimy robes of the Ku Klux Klan had disappeared into irrelevance, bang goes a pistol and it lifts its ugly head again. Not since the days that David Duke dominated the headlines had we even thought about the evils injected into society by those bands of white hooded misfits.
Just last week, a woman from Oklahoma thought about joining the Sons of Dixie Knights of the Ku Klux Klan not far away in Washington Parish. When she changed her mind, the hooded monsters couldnt bear with it and put her to rest with a bullet.
Hopefully, this is one small isolated group of the society that considers itself a savior from people not made like them. Thank goodness for the differences.
That the incident arose in Louisiana at such a late date is strange since we are not considered a hotbed of such intolerant behavior. That the perpetrators were immediately caught and put away relieves us to know that there is not much sympathy with their cause in our state. No one seems to have much pity on them.
Our only regret is that there are still small groups of people out there who believe in their supremacy over others not like them. We need to bring them down to reality.
