Jules John Tarullo

Capt. Jules John Tarullo left this earth on July 24, 2017 to join his precious family who has gone before him.

Jules was born on Oct. 18, 1950 in Metairie, La., reared in Goodhope, La., and a longtime resident of Norco.

He retired from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office as captain after 27 years, 10 months of service (March 1981 to August 2008).  In September 2008 he joined the St. Charles Parish District Attorney’s Office as  investigator captain and retired as chief investigator on Jan. 31, 2017.

Jules was a member of Blue Knights Law Enforcement M/C Club, Regional Organized Crime Information Center, Louisiana Sheriff’s Association, Louisiana District Association, state representative for the Blue Knights, and LaPlace Jaycees. He won numerous awards for his police work from Who’s Who in Law Enforcement, R.O.C.I.C., Rotary Club, twice Deputy of the Month, etc. Jules attended over 100 schools and seminars for law enforcement training and passed this information on as an instructor at both the St. Charles and Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Training Academies.

Jules is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Darlene Mabile Tarullo and the seven children he raised and loved; Cassie Tarullo, Christian Tarullo, Jennie Tarullo, Jules Giovanni Tarullo (Deana), Jamie Tarullo Robin (David), Shane Remondet and Ashley Remondet; grandfather of Christian II, Carley, Brandon, Kagin, Shawna, Rebekah, Sophia, Jordan, Brooklyn, Spencer, Savanna, Shane Jr. and Stacie; great-grandfather of Cooper and Christian III; brother of Frankie Tarullo, Freddie Tarullo (Peggy) and the late Darryl Tarullo; son of the late Edith Matherne Tarullo and Frank Anthony Tarullo; grandson of the late Idee Granier Matherne and Jules Matherne and Mary Hayden Tarullo and Giovanni Tarullo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral.  Interment was held in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery on July 28.
