Sandra V. Oubre died on Aug. 19, 2015 at the age of 79 peacefully at her home.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Felicie Keller Oubre and J. Charles Oubre Sr., her sister, Felicie “Susie” Oubre, and her brother, Gerard L. Oubre, and his wife Sandy Oubre.
She is survived by her four brothers and their wives; J. Charles Oubre Jr. and Carol, Gail P. Oubre and Cathlyn, Roland D. Oubre and Janet, Bernard N. Oubre and Linda. She is also survived by four nieces, 10 nephews and fourgodchildren.
Sandra was a native of Hahnville, La.
She was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing (R.N. -1957) and Nicholls State University (1970).
She was employed by the St. Charles Parish School Board as an elementary school teacher and principal for approximately 20 years and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Father Bernard Francis as celebrant and Father Joel Cantones as co-celebrant. Graveside internment at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft, La.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Hospice Compassus for all their love and support, especially her nurse, Lani Fonseca.
The family would also like to express their gratitude to all of her caregivers for the compassion, love and care they provided to her during her final days.
