Robert Charles Harrison, Sr. “Bob” born in San Antonio, TX on November 18, 1939 and died in Metairie, LA on March 13, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gloria Chiasson Harrison and children Robert Emile Harrison II, Jacquelyn Allemand Geddes Elfer (Charles “Chuck”), Kelly Harrison Thomas (John), Allen J. Harrison, Robert C. Harrison, Jr., Wendy Harrison Pigott (Raymond), Christopher P. Harrison, and his sister, Linda Beatrice Harrison Falgoust. Bob is also survived by 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Harrison I and Alice Beatrice Cobb Harrison.
Better known in the community as, “Bob the coffee man”, Bob was self-employed, operating Southern Coffee Service for 32 years.
He was a member of the Rotary Club of St. Charles Parish, he served on the Monsanto Community Action Program (CAP) as well as St. Charles Parish Economic Development Council.
As a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years and of St. Anthony of Padua (KC #2409) for the past 48, Bob enjoyed volunteering in many church ministries as a council member, lector, religion teacher, youth leader, many fund raising events, and as a past Grand Knight.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 234 Angus Dr. Luling, LA 70070. Visitation at 10AM until Mass at 11AM. Burial immediately following at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, 13396 River Rd. Destrehan, LA 70047, Gethsemane Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, Mass or donations to KC #2409 (serving St, Mark, Ama; St. Anthony of Padua, Luling; St. John the Baptist, Paradis; St. Gertrude, Des Allemands; Holy Rosary, Hahnville). The family would like to thank the caregivers at St. Michael Assisted Care Facility, Metairie, and the Anvoi Hospice Care, Metairie for their compassionate care.
