Frank Power

Frank Power, 74, of Liberty, Miss., passed away on Feb. 23 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Power was born on Oct. 11, 1942, in Houma, La. He was the son of, Woodrow and Marion Carlson Power.

He was a retired chemist from Union Carbide and an EMT for Union Carbide for 25 years. He moved to Liberty from St. Charles Parish in 1999. He enrolled and graduated from Southwest Community College in 2005 and received his associate degree in Nursing. He was employed by Field Memorial Hospital in Centerville for the past 10 years.

Power was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb and attended a variety of schools, including ULL in Lafayette, Nichols University in Thibodeaux and Southwest in Summit.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman’s enjoying hunting and fishing. He was an avid collector of many items, such as old cars, guns and enjoyed gun shows. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Power was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbi Power of Liberty: his mother, Marion Power Volger of Houma; a son, Michael Power of Harahan, La.; a brother, Robert Power of Kokomo, Miss.; two sisters, Mary Ann Atchley of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Elizabeth Battard (David) of Dallas, Texas; and a grandchild Claire Power of Harahan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb.

Visitation was held Feb. 27 – 28 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb and followed by memorial services at the church with Father Brian Kaskie officiating.

Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
