FRICKEY

Abraham “AJ” Jimmie Frickey on Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 in Jefferson. Son of the late Jimmie Frickey and Lovinia Ochman Frickey. Father of Keith Frickey, Dana Frickey, Dale Frickey, Trina Frickey, Lori Latiolais, Judy Sumrall and Monica Madere. Brother of Nolan Frickey Sr. and Gerladine Dennis. Preceded by his wife, the late Bevery Eusea Frickey. Also survived by 18 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Age 73 years. A native of Luling and a resident of Bayou Gauche where he lived in his house boat. He was a decorated Korean War veteran having received the Untied Nations Medal, National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Presidentail Unit Citation. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to a mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m. until funeral time. Falgout Funeral Homes LLC in charge of arrangements.

BROWN

Amelia “Mia” Brown on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at her home in Boutte. Daughter of the late Rayfield and Olivia Brown. Mother of Norris (Gail) Hill, Norman (Octavia) Brown, Delores (NOrman) Taylor, Charles (Mary) Brown, Gertrude Brown, Sophia (Edward) Taylor, Raynell (Dina) Brown, Kenneth (Lanell) Boyd, Dominic (Triche) Brown, the late Robert Hill, Ophelia Brown and Olivia Turner. Sister of Milton Brown, the late Evelina Johnson, Hazel Gibson, Mathaline White, Julia Hill, Alma, Earline and Celestine Brown. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 84 years. A native and resident of Boutte. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors and members of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches were invited to attend the funeral service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 107 Magnolia Ridge, Boutte. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery in Boutte. Visitation at the above named church was from 9 a.m. until funeral time. Serviced by Robottom.

LAGARDE

Charles S. Lagarde, Jr. on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 8:47 a.m. in Raceland. Beloved husband of Patricia E. Brown Lagarde by second marriage and the late Anna Louise Power Lagarde by first marriage. Father of Jeanne Lagarde Jacobi and husband Lawrence and Therese Lagarde Progar and husband James. Step-father of Donny Brown and his wife Patricia and the late Danny brown. Son of the late Charles S. Lagarde, Sr. and Enola Courville Lagarde. Brother of the lare Eugene Lagarde, Marie Louise Lagarde, Emma Casse and Enola Lagarde. Also survived by five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A native and resident of St. Charles Parish. Age 85 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and was a World War II veteran. He was an attorney for over 40 years in Luling. Relatives and friends of the family were invited at attend the funeral. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 11 a.m. Interment at Lake Lawn Cemetery. Visitation from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17 at Falgout Funeral Homes in Raceland from 9 a.m. until funeral time. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

MATHERNE

Elma “T-Ma” Matherne Perrer on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 at6 12:40 p.m. Age 80. Resident of Luling and a native of Vacherie. Survived by her son, Dean Perrer of Pontchatoula; grandchildren, Gregory, Morris, Catherine and Jerry Champagne all of Luling; Eugene Jr. of Bassfield, Miss. , Francis Shelton of Monroe, Paul Perrer of Baton Rouge, Mathew of Gainsville, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Gregory, Rochelle and Brandon Champagne, Blake and Brent Samaha of Luling. Three brothers, Maurice and Lester Matherne of Des Allemands and George Matherne of Metairie. Three sisters, Velma Breaux and Bessie Matherne of Des Allemands and Betty Champagne of Luling. Preceded in life by her husband, Eugene Joseph Perrer. Her parents, Hypolite and Clementine Folse Matherne. Two sons, Eugene Paul and Danny Joseph Perrer. One daughter, Sylvia Mae Perrer Champagne. Two brothers, Eloie and Eddie Matherne. One sister, Thelma Dufrene. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, Nov. 20 at St. Gertrude in Des Allemands. Service was held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 20 at St. Gertrude. Elma was a member os St. Gertrudes Ladie’s Altar Society, Employee of Matherne’s Stuffed Crabs of Des Allemands and became a notable local seamstress, hat maker and life doll maker.
