Hingle
Phyllis Songy Hingle, a beloved wife and mother, died at 4:35 p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2006. She was 72, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Destrehan. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Calvin Hingle; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Marshall Townsend, Jennifer and Bruce Robinson, Andrea and Shawn Fleming, and Pamela and Mark Hatley; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stewart and Anna Hingle and Jeffrey Hingle; three sisters, Margaret S. Meyer, Sister Linda Songy and Sylvia S. Davis; a brother, Russell D. Songy; and 13 grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob and Emily townsend, Nathan, Jull and Amy Fleming, Benjamin and Christopher Hatley and Kenneth and Lauren Hingle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubin and Philomene Stewart Songy; sisters, Jeanne Marie Songy and Annette S. Toomer; and a brother, Aubin A. Songy, Jr. She was a parishioner of St. George Catholic Church and a 1951 graduate of Hahnville High School. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Institute for Cancer Research.

Madere
Thomas Davis Madere, on Sunday, July 16, 2006 in Metairie, La.  Beloved husband of Brenda DeJean Madere.  Father of Alan Davis Madere, Mark Stephen Madere, Paul Joseph Madere, Evan James Madere, Mary Francis Clements and Joan Elizabeth Madere.  Son of the late Leon Preston Madere and Clara Keller Madere.  Brother of Charles Preston Madere, Earl Joseph Madere, Jan Gerard Madere, Mildred Madere, Marian Pizzolata, Fay Madere, Ann Sellars and the late James Louis Madere, Martha Lois Creel, Roberta Lynch and Dorothy Megas.  Also survived by 9 grandchildren. A native and resident of Hahnville, La.  Age 67 years.  He was a retired teacher and coach in the St. Charles Parish School System.  Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, La., on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 11 a.m.  Interment Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft, La.  Visitation was held from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at the church.  In lieu of flowers masses prefered.  Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Griffin
Mrs. Bessie C. Griffin on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. in Alabama.  Wife of Bruce Griffin.  Mother of Kasi Candies and Heather Cortez and the late Cory Candies.  Sister of Donny, Joe, Ferdie, and Alfred (Kruser) Cortez.  Daughter of Cora Belle Cornwell Cortez and the late Alfred Cortez.  Age 56 years.  A native and resident of Lafourche Parish.  Also survived by 5 grandchildren.  A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, on July 19, 2006.  Followed by interment at St. Gertrude.  Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.

Champagne
Norward Champagne on Wednesday, July 12 at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, Texas.  Son of the late Elise Desborne and Calice Champagne.  Husband of Lois Champagne of Corinth, Texas.  Father of Ave Griffin of Corinth, Tx., Belinda Conner of Alabama, Charlitarage Edwards of Woodlands, Tx., Tony Champagne of Baton Rouge, Terry Champagne of Wisonsin, Don Champagne of Austin and Demetrius Champagne of New Orleans, La.  Brother of Martin Champagne, the late Doris C. Gross, Ada C. Orlidge, Louis, Clayward, Claude, Owen, Calice, Jr., and Charles Champagne.  Also survived by 22 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Age 86 years.  A native of Hahnville, La., and a resident of Corinth, Texas since Katrina, formerly of New Orleans, La.  Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, La., on July 19, 2006.  Fr. Bernard C. Francis, Celebrant.  Interment Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft, La.  Serviced by Robottom.
