Ruth Louise Victor Scott on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Ochsner Hospital, Jefferson, La. Daughter of the late Loula Barre and Lionel Victor. Wife of the late Joseph Casey Scott, Jr. Mother of Barbara (Milton) Lockett, Rose (Roland) Lockett, Reggie (Norman) Gordon and Janice (Tommy) Petetant. Sister of the late Felecien, Gilbert and Lawrence Victor. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 90 years. A native of Edgard, La., and a resident of Killona, La. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hahnville, La. Ceola M. Temple on Monday, August 14, 2006 at River Parishes Hospital, LaPlace, La.  Daughter of the late Eddie and Florestine B. Martin, Sr.  Mother of Charles Temple, Jr., Herbert Temple, Annie T. Ingram, Shirley T. Wilson, Elaine T. Anderson, Judith, Calvin and Michael Temple.  Sister of Margaret Williams, Mable Edwards, Martha Domino, Mary Charles, the late Agnes Temple, Evelina Coleman and Eddie Martin, Jr.  Also survived by 23 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 daughters in law, 4 sons in law and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.  Age 80 years.  A native of St. James, La., and a resident of Ama, La.  Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at New Jerusalam Baptist Church, Edgard, La.  Interment Jerusalem Cemetery, Edgard, La.  Rev. Evelyn Martin Allen on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at St. Charles Hospital, Luling, La.  Daughter of the late August Martin, Sr. and Sarah Williams Martin Early.  Wife of James Allen.  Sister of Sandra Fenderson, Aaron Williams, Joanna (Elton) Zeringue, August (Geraldine) Martin, Sylvia (Milton) Manning, Doris and Mamie (Thomas) Early the late Elsie Mae and Rosa Lee Martin, Faye and Albert Early.  Also survived by a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Age 60 years.  A native and resident of New Sarpy, La.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Matthew Baptist Church and all neighboring chruches were invited to attend funeral services at St. Matthew Baptist Church, New Sarpy, La.  Rev. VITRANO
Paul M. Vitrano, Jr., passed away at Terrebonne General Hospital on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at 6:36 p.m.  Beloved husband of forty years of Dora Landry Vitrano.  Father of Paul M. Vitrano III, Lisa Vitrano, Laurie V. Jones (husband, Tim), Angela V. Gaubert (husband, Bubby), and Terry M. Vitrano. Son of the late Paul M. Vitrano, Sr. and Annie Spano Vitrano.  Brother of Nickolas Vitrano and the late Joseph A. Vitrano.  Grandfather of Annie and Denis Gaubert and Zachary Jones.  Step-grandfather of Timmy and Jessica Jones and Rebecca Jones Moser.  Also survived by a special long-time friend of the family, Barbara Nalezinek, and many other loving relatives and friends.  Age 76 years.  Relatives and friends of the family, retirees of Monsanto Chemical were invited to attend funeral services at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling, La.  Interment St. Charles Cemetery, Luling, La.  In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.  Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

LEGER
Mary Mildred Leger, on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in Luling, La.  Age 65 years.  A native of Church Point, La. and a resident of Bayou Gauche, La.  Survivors include 2 sisters: Evalina Leger of Thibodaux and one sister in Church Point, name unknown.  Preceded in death by her parents.  Special friend of Norman Comardelle.  Services were held at Life Fellowship Church, Bayou Gauche, La.  Interment Sunset Cemetery, Bayou Gauche, La.  Falgout Funeral Homes were in charge of arrangments.

CORTEZ
Cortez, Douglas J.  Born March 11, 1942 in New Orleans,La., he died Thursday August 17, 2006, at Baton Rouge General in Baton Rouge, La. He was a native of Des Allemands and a resident of Tunica, La. and retired after 28 years of service as a security guard at Angola State Prison. He was a member of Miracle Place Church. Visitation will be on Saturday August 19, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. with Pastors Rip Rittell and Robert Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park In Natchez, Ms. under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday. He was preceded in death by his father William Joseph (Willie) Cortez; mother Celina Arceneaux Cortez; and brother Leroy Joseph Cortez. Survivors include his wife Linda Gordon Cortez of Tunica; daughters Nina Lambert and husband Charles of Marksville, and Kim Wilson of Angola; son, Lloyd Barnes of Tunica; brother Herman J. Cortez of Des Allemands; sister Joyce C. Wenger of  Des Allemands; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Wilson, Joshua Walton, Greg Wilson, Shane Worsham, Shannon Worsham and Sherwin Reverre. Honorary pallbearers are the Honorary Guard from Angola.
