Merrick J. Matherne, 70, passed away on May 17, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann Mistretta Matherne, father of Janine Matherne, Kiersten M. Granier (Husband David), Meridy M. Hiser (Husband Brian) and Megan Matherne, brother of Cheryl M. Weber, Gary, Barry and the late Wayne Matherne, and grandfather of Blake and Paige Granier, Makenna and Kaleb Matherne.
Merrick was an avid golfer and a very proud vocalist at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, Ky., and Ascension of Our Lord Church in La Place. Relatives and friends were invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church on May 20 with interment following in Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Ascension of Our Lord Church, 799 Fairway Dr., La Place, LA 70068.
