Curlis James Matherne, 84, a native and resident of Bayou Gauche, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Paradis, on Tuesday, January 10th from 9 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery, in Luling.
Curlis is survived by his children, Randy Matherne, Melanie Ayo (Zane) and Amy Matherne (Ervin); 3 grandchildren, Payton Matherne, Clay Matherne and Julia Matherne; brothers, Gerald and Roland Matherne; sisters, Clara Bell Thompson and Mary Ann Bourgeois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Naquin Matherne; parents, Sidney and Alida Matherne and brother, Lloyd Matherne.
