Marvin Lars Ecroyd

Marvin Lars Ecroyd passed peacefully from this life on March 4th, 2021 to join his wife, Sharon Kay Myers Ecroyd, in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

He was at his home in Norco, Louisiana, surrounded by loving family. He was 66 years young. Marvin was born at Keesler AFB in Gulfport Mississippi to Melvin Lars Ecroyd, and Mary Estelle Walker on August 25, 1954. He joined the US Marine Corps as a young man. His MOS was firefighter but he was also commended for firearms/rifle Marksman among other various commendations. After his Honorable Discharge from the Marines, He proudly served as Vice-Commander and Commander at the American Legion Post 195 in Norco, Louisiana. His primary occupation was that of a diesel mechanic. He was passionate about anything with a motor and enjoyed restoring his orange Chevrolet pickup truck. He loved camping and spending time with family and friends. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Sharon Kay Myers Ecroyd, his father Melvin Lars Ecroyd, his mother Mary Estelle Walker, and his brother Marcus Lee Ecroyd.

He is survived by his son, Norman A Lord (Jessica), his daughter Tammera Lord, his five grandchildren Jessica Luneau (Adam), Jennifer Freeman (Mead), Antoine Ocmond (Abigail), Krystin Lord and Katelyn Dukes (DJ), 13 great-grandchildren, and his brother Melvin H Ecroyd. Graveside services will be held on March 19th at the Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA at 1:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held on March 19th from 6-9 p.m. at the American Legion Post 195, 424 Clayton Drive in Norco, Louisiana.
