Marion James Zeringue

Marion James Zeringue, 75, native and resident of Ama, LA, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, of heart disease, at his home surrounded by his loving wife of 51 years, Denise Hatty Zeringue, daughter Lacey (Patrick) Doucet, April (Tony) LeBouef, son Brandon Zeringue, grandchildren Kyle and Haley-Kate Doucet and Dreux, Marcella and Meredith LeBouef.
He is survived by his sisters Dora “Dolly” (Larry) Landry, Theresa (Dale) Petit, Lorraince (Scurley) Landry, Julia Daigle, Jill Cantrelle and Dawn (Troy) Pintado, and brother Steve (Mary Jane) Zeringue and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parent, Placide and Dora S. Zeringue, brothers Morris (Agnes L.) Zeringue, and Vernon Zeringue and sisters Diane Zeringue and Judy (Eucid) Boudreaux, and brother-in-law Myron Cantrelle.

Marion was a carpenter all his life starting at the age of 12 working with his twin brother Morris building houses and joining the carpenters local 1846 until his retirement in 2004. Marion loved deer hunting with Morris in Alabama and spending time with family and friends whenever he could. Marion loved to ride up and down the street on his golf cart with his grandchildren, building and fixing things making sure to tell everyone how to do it the right way. Relatives and friends will be invited to attend a memorial mass at St. Marks Catholic church in Ama, and internment at St. Charles Parish Cemetery, Luling when arrangements are made.
