Carrie Matherne Loupe passed away peacefully on Feb. 6.
Loupe, born on Aug. 16, 1927, was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lester Loupe (WW II veteran), her parents, Roger and Bertha Matherne, her brother, Vincent and Landry Matherne, along with her grandson John Paul Loupe.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter Sharon (Glenn) Smith, her sons Randal, Scott (JoAnn) and Tyler (Connie) Loupe along with 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Loupe was a lifelong resident of Des Allemands who spent 25 years working for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as a bridge operator there. She was also well known as the local seamstress.
She will be sorely missed by all family and friends.
Visitation was held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church on Feb. 11 until funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated with burial in the church cemetery.
