Leola P. Schexnayder, 80, passed away on Sept. 29, 2011 at her residence.
She was a graduate of Destrehan High School and a secretary with the St. Charles Parish School Board and worked with St. Charles Parish Water Works for over 10 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Burton “Chief” “Socko” Schexnayder Sr., her children: Morgan Schexnayder (Lahonda), Cheryl Deslatte (Randy), Teryl Schexnayder (Susan), Kerry Schexnayder Sr. (Barbara), Burton Schexnayder Jr., Bryan Schexnayder Sr. (Joan) and Richard Schexnayder (Bobbi); siblings: Aleta Engeron, Thelma Aranyosi and Louis “Buddy” Brock Jr.; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Pierce Sr. and Corinne Relimpio, brother, Elridge “Boo” Pierce, and sister, Jackie Pierce.
Services were held on Oct. 2 at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco and Oct. 3 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan with Fr. Tom McCann officiating. Burial followed in the church mausoleum. Family and friends are invited to send condolences to www.hcalexanderfuneralhome.com.
