Wilma Boone Johnson died on Sunday, Sept. 14 at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie. Age. 78.
Luling resident formerly of Lecompte. Preceded in death by her husband Leon Anthony Johnson and one daughter Kelly J. Breaux. She was a member of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church in Luling. She was also a retired postal worker of 27 years. Wilma is survived by three brothers – Charna Boone of Lecompte, William Boone of Lecompte and Terry Boone of Gardner; six sisters – Juanita Saunders of Channelview, Texas, Ione Saunders of Magnolia, Texas, Mary Johnson of Leeds, Ala., Callie Harvey of Lecompte, Sue Crawford of Gautier, Miss. and Carolyn Ates of Lecompte; one son – John J. Johnson of Allen, Texas; two daughters – Karen Donnaud of Luling, Barbara Wood of Alabaster, Ala.; seven grandchildren – Sherri Dufrene, Dawn Bourgeois, Danielle Clause, Wesley Donnaud, Drew Wood, Todd Wood, James Wood; three great-grandchildren – Curt Barousse, Lauren Dufrene and Carly Clause.
Services were held on Thursday, Sept. 18 in the chapel of St. John Kramer & Son with Rev. Jimmy Koonce officiating. Interment was in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.
