John Thomas Sellers of Arlington, Texas, born March 6, 1951 in Mozella, Louisiana to John Luther Sellers and Mary Hazel Sellers, passed away September 8, 2020. John is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-one years, Donna; his children Miriam Sellers, Phoebe Soward and husband James, Whitney McLaughlin and husband Sean; grandchildren Nigel, Daniel, Geoffrey, Emilee, Madison, Liam, Brett-Ashley; and great grandson Zachary.
John is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Sellers, brothers Hicks Youngs Sellers and Earl John Picou, sister-in-law Yvonne Gautier, and mother-in-law Corrine Gautier. John is survived by siblings Edward Picou and wife Marlene, Julian Picou and wife Samantha, Phillip Picou, Walter Sellers, Emma Rousse and husband C.J., and Phoebe Cellos and husband Greg.
John worked in the printing industry for over 40 years and in retirement, volunteered and served on the Texas District Council of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) for five years. John’s love of music and theater continued throughout his life as he performed and sang in NORD Theater, church choirs and barbershop quartets. John’s kind heart and positive outlook presented a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit which lifted and entertained all. He will be missed.
A memorial will be held November 28, 2020 at the Youngs Cemetery in Mozella, Louisiana at 12:00 pm followed by a reception.
