David P. Jeffreys

David P. Jeffreys, 79, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 26.

He was born in Conroe, Texas on Dec. 15, 1934 to William Jeffreys and Willard “Pearl Lee” Smith Jeffreys. He proudly served in the United States Army as an Infantry Unit Commander in Vietnam and was the recipient of numerous medals and commendations.  He also served in the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged in May 1972. David then began his career as a nuclear medical technician at the VA Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. and later transferred to the VA Hospital in New Orleans, from which he later retired. He was a resident of Luling.

Jeffreys was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Billy Damico.  He is survived by his children: Debra Jeffreys (Jerry Clark), Stephen Jeffreys (Renee) and Donovan Jeffreys (Angie). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brandon Champagne, Stephen Jeffreys II, Shauna Gill (David); his sister, Frances Duronslet (Lynwood) and his brother, Tippy Jeffreys (Debbie) and by many other loving relatives and friends. There will be a small visitation with family and close friends on Saturday, April 5.
