Nellie Anne Hymel

Nellie Anne Hymel, 64, of Lumberton, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 27 in her home.

Hymel was born on July 17, 1951, in New Orleans to Josepha Brady Hymel and Willie Joseph Hymel Sr., and had been a longtime resident of the Lumberton area.

She is survived by her children: Kristin Marie Candies Polito, of Madisonville, La; Kelly Michael Candies and his wife, Erica, of Quantico, Virginia; Kalyn Michele Candies Moseley and her husband, Meekie, of Lumberton, Texas; and Keena Monique Candies, of Lumberton, Texas; and brothers, Willie J. Hymel, of Abbeville, Louisiana; and Morris P. Hymel and his wife, Sheila, of Hahnville, Louisiana. Nellie also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren.

A Rosary was recited followed by a gathering of Hymel’s family and friends at Broussard’s in Beaumont, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton.

Additional services with family and friends were held with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Feb. 5 at Our Lady of The Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville. Interment followed at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Taft under the direction of Broussard’s, Beaumont.
