Magdalen Cortez Bourg Fonseca went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 21. She was a native of Des Allemands and a resident of Boutte for 60 years.
Visitation was Wednesday, July 24 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial following at St. Charles Cemetery.
She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, James “Jimmy” Fonseca; sons, Blaine Bourg and wife Patsy, Bart Bourg and companion Mona; step children, Marlene, Peggy, James Jr. and Robert Fonseca; daughter-in-law, Crestine Bourg of the Philippines; grandchildren, Angel, Jireh, Sharon Bourg of the Philippines, Miranda, Mindy and husband Daniel, Monique and husband Pops, Stephan, Katricia and husband Earl, Steven and wife Tina; great-grandchildren, Diamon, Randen, Celeste, Gia, Jayden and Jordan; brother Philip Cortez and wife Pat; sister Melva Champagne and husband Jerry; sister-in-law, Mary Cortez and her special Aunt, Ida Grabert; Godchildren, Trudy Lopez and Irvin Cortez Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward “Pedro” and Dora Grabert Cortez; her eldest son, Ferlin Bourg and her brother, Irvin Cortez.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
