Nellie Toups Dufrene, 72, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Des Allemands, was entrusted into God’s loving care on Dec. 26, 2010 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roland Dufrene, son, Stuart Dufrene, daughter, Valerie Duhon and fiancee Darrin Menendez, sisters: Sally Gros, Katherine Himel, Leona “Poopie” Thibodaux and Gloria Lambert; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nolan Toups and Leona Thibodaux Toups, one daughter, Monica Landry, and two brothers, Wilton and Junius Toups. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands on Dec. 30 with entombment following at St. Gertrude Catholic Church Cemetery. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland was in charge of arrangements.
