Blake F. Charvat

Blake F. Charvat, age 26, of Baltimore, MD and formerly of Destrehan, died Aug. 21, 2008.

Blake was a Researcher on the faculty of Johns Hopkins University. Blake was a fiercely loyal and passionate character with a smile that instantly charmed. He was as quick to protect his family as he was to engage in a philosophical debate. He relished the simple pleasures in life, such as swinging with his grandfather, late-night walks with his dog, and renting obscure movies with his girlfriend. Survivors include his parents, Rickie and Jim Charvat, Atlanta; sister, Julie Hernandez (Jason), Doylestown, Pa.; sister, Courtney Charvat, Atlanta; girlfriend, Ann VandenLangenberg, Baltimore, MD; paternal grandmother, Theodora Charvat Thomas, Atlanta; maternal grandmother, Shirley Slater, Houma; nephew, Tyler Hernandez; niece, Sadie Hernandez; aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved cat, “Feller”. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Frank J. Charvat and Harry A. Slater, of blessed memory.
